Although  makes many styles of jewellery, it's their beaded designs which they are best known for. Each piece is strung by hand in Japan using only the finest vintage and new beads in stone, glass and sterling silver. Through the use of natural stone and hand-made glass beads, each Mikia necklace and bracelet is unique unto itself.

This bracelet is made from medium sized 6mm stone beads in Spiderweb Obsidian, accented by glass beads. The hardware is cast from 925 Sterling Silver, with a Puka Shell to wrap the nylon cordage around for secure wearing.

Malachite: Malachite was used as a mineral pigment in green paints from antiquity until bbr title="circa" data-mce-fragment="1">c. 1800. A 17th-century Spanish superstition held that having a child wear a lozenge of malachite would help them sleep, and keep evil spirits at bay, whilst ancient Egyptians believed that the afterlife contained an eternal paradise, referred to as the "Field of Malachite", which resembled their lives but with no pain or suffering.
